High School Leadership Program

High School Leadership Program

As part of the Wilks Institute's ongoing commitment to collaboratively work with all of their community partners, the High School Leadership Program has expanded. A small group of students from Talawanda, Hamilton, and surrounding area High Schools work together with their respective schools to explore their own understandings of leadership and citizenship as well as discuss issues that are important in the high school context. The students identify several issues that matter to them and their community - including school funding, school climate and the need for spaces to have dialogue. Wilks then sends Miami students, during the academic year, to work with the high school students, supporting them as they transform their ideas into action within their high school communities.
